Now or never! Cape Coral is purely a
Boater's Paradise. Cape Coral provides over 400miles of waterways. The calm waters of the Gulf of Mexico are predestined for boat trips. Rent a motorboat and explore the area over the water. Many great beaches, restaurants, marinas are so convenient to reach by boat. It is fun for the whole family.
Due to we are close to the outer channel in Cape Coral you drive in a quiet location along the mangroves to the ending of the Caloosahatchee River and from there into the open sea. Fort Myers Beach, Sanibel, Capitva, Cayo Costa, Boca Grande, Estero and Naples are within easy reach. The journey to the lock is just over an hour.
Discover SouthWest Florida from the water.
Authorization to drive a boat
In Florida, you can drive a boat with a valid driver's license and a minimum age of 21 years. People born after 1987 must be in possession of a safety card to drive a boat (not a boating license). There are exceptions, for example, if this person is accompanied by another person who is already in possession of this card or is exempted from the regulation (for example, by age). We recommend a free online course to apply for the Boating Safety Education Identification Card.

Legal requirements:
Official statement regarding the need of the safety card: The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) requires anyone born on or after January 1, 1988, to successfully complete an approved boater safety course in order to legally operate a vessel powered by a motor of 10 horsepower or greater. Vessel operators are required to carry an FWC–issued Boating Safety Education Identification Card and a photo identification card while operating a motorized vessel on Florida waterways. Further information on the legal provisions can also be found on the webpage of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission at

BoatUS, a US boat service provider (Towing & Insurances), offers free training courses online for acquiring the Boaters Safety Card. Boat Owner's Association of The United States, BoatUS for short, issues certificates that have 90 days validity, and then the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission sends the ID to us. You have to invest apprx. 4-6 hours of your time for the course. I highly recommend this also to thoose who are not required to apply for the safety ID card. Just sign up and let's go.
